Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg Chair in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Jacobsen distinguished the Egg Chair by his omission of any straight lines in its design-only curves. The Egg Chair provides further evidence of the movement in design to adapt more organic forms into our living spaces.
The Egg chair is constructed using a rigid foam shell, upholstered in either a soft cashmere fabric, sumptuous wool or full Italian leather and sits on an aluminium swivel base. The Egg Chair also has the tilt function.
