|
Arne Jacobsen's endearing designs of the 'Egg Chair' and the
complimenting 'Swan Chair' remain quite possibly the 20th century's most
easily recognisable and famous furniture designs. With their pure
sculptured form, easy comfort and faultless good looks, these chairs
will continue to be popular as generations pass! Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg Chair in 1958 for the lobby and reception areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Jacobsen distinguished the Egg Chair by his omission of any straight lines in its design-only curves. The Egg Chair provides further evidence of the movement in design to adapt more organic forms into our living spaces. The Egg chair is constructed using a rigid foam shell, upholstered in either a soft cashmere fabric, sumptuous wool or full Italian leather and sits on an aluminium swivel base. The Egg Chair also has the tilt function. A chance to own a reproduction of one of the most famous furniture designs ever to be conceived. | |||||||||||||||||||||
